  Favorite tacos in the Bay Area. Small menu, everything is simple, but super tasty. Very inexpensive.

  I can see why this place only has few customers : this ignorant pendeja was on the phone chit chatting away I stood there for about 2 minutes waiting to take my order
  Then soon after this pendeja hangs up she begins talk away with her customers
  Then she begins yelling at me in an aggressive tone  of voice :WHAT DID YOU ORDER?!
  I said to her no I did not order
  Her response"DIDNT YOU ORDER THESE TACOS? Yelling at me once again
  And I told her politely "no I did not order anything yet "
  And after I ordered and I received my food,
  Im walking out of the place she yells "BYE GET OUT! Fuera!"it's no wonder this place has many poor reviews
  They don't know exactly what customer service is about.
  If anything go to the el grullense in 2525 el Camino they are more professional than this health violated joint

  I was craving tacos for quite some time so I was excited to get some tacos. My bf suggested this place without trying it and we saw some high reviews. To be honest, I wanted some fried fish tacos (picture the Tropisueno fish tacos in SF). But when I got to the outside of this place - I realized they probably weren't going to have it. I was okay with that. I love carne asada tacos so I was excited to try those. This place is cash only, its about $1.25 per taco. My bf and I ordered 9 tacos - 4 for me, and 5 for him. We got 7 carne asada tacos and 2 chicken tacos. I read some reviews that the tacos would be pretty spicy. We got them for take out, went home, opened it. It didn't quite look IG worthy - but hey TACOS, who doesn't love tacos. I took a bite - they were so DRY! I really didn't like them. They had some lemon slices on top so I sprayed some juice on them - made them a little better. Overall dissatisfied with the tacos. Didn't hit the spot - took them quite some time to cook. Not juicy enough.

  Hot damn!  That's what I said when that salsa hit my tongue.  I didn't know the default salsa was hot, so remember to get mild if you can't take the heat (which it still packs a teeny bit).  I grew up in San Mateo and still surprisingly hadn't tried Tacos El Grullense until a few months ago.  This location is open at 9AM so we went for a late breakfast around 10 & there was only one table occupied.  It's a small spot and looks like it used to be some sort of fast food place.
  
  It's what you think of a good taqueria, hole in the wall, and a bit dirty.  Prices are cheap, the menu is small and straightforward.  We got an assorted amount of al pastor, carnitas and carne asada tacos.  After a few minutes our order was ready.  Since I'm all about veggies I liked how they included a few slices of carrots.  All the meats were moist but we liked the carnitas the most.  I did not like his beef taco.  Al Pastor had a nice marinade as well.  Tacos were under $1.70 each.  Again, specify mild salsa if you want mild, as they don't ask you, they just ask if you want everything on it.
  
  We had the new Tacos El Grullense at the food court at Hillsdale, while still solid, the meat here has more flavor and the menu items are cheaper.  We'll be back, because, tacos are life!

  This place is amazing. The most authentic tacos you can get out of Mexico. I'm from SoCal and going to TJ was the usual move, but now I have even a better fix here in the Bay. Give them a try I'm 100% you'll love it especially if you love spicy salsa. I recommend the Sope, Burritos, and Torta.
